Flex-Time Lawyers LLC has held chapter events in New York since 2002. As of November 1, 2010, these events are now called Law & Reorder® events. They continue to be held in New York City on a quarterly basis. The events generally cover four different topic areas: workplace restructuring, talent management, work/life balance and retaining and promoting lawyers, with a focus on women. The Law & Reorder® name more accurately reflects the content of our future programs.
The audience for the Law & Reorder programs are male and female lawyers from the city and suburbs who work in large and small law firms, in-house, government, not-for-profit, and solo practitioner settings. Law firm management, legal managers, legal administrators, diversity representatives, law students, recruiters, legal assistants, paralegals, full-time, flex-time and reduced hour lawyers, and stay-at-home parents are welcome. Attendees include both legal employer representatives and practicing lawyers, making for a compelling dialogue about how work needs can be met for lawyers, clients and employers. The events often host prominent guests including legal and other industry experts, authors, judges and bar association representatives.

Become a paid individual Law & Reorder® chapter member in New York. Here’s how it works:
- The first chapter program for anyone who wants to attend a Law & Reorder® event is free with no commitment to join. The first Law & Reorder® event was in November 2010. If you’ve previously attended Flex-Time Lawyers LLC events or been a Flex-Time Lawyers LLC member before November 2010, your attendance at your first Law & Reorder® is still free.
- Once you attend your first Law & Reorder program for free, you can pick and choose the programs you want to attend for a $50 program fee per program. Or, you can choose to join Law & Reorder and purchase a $150 membership that will cover your attendance for four consecutive programs, including the first one you attended (regardless of whether you missed programs in between).
- Individual memberships are non-transferable, meaning that only the individual who joins Law & Reorder can use the membership and attend the programming. In contrast, corporate members can purchase corporate spots, allowing any firm or company representative to attend as a representative, as more fully described below.
- Law firm lawyers are encouraged to submit their membership invoice for reimbursement. Law firms will often reimburse for membership as a business development expense.
- In addition to the four consecutive programs, the membership fee provides members with a directory of members, distribution of topical articles, access to dynamic guest speakers, information about industry standards, and prospective business referrals and job opportunities. It also contributes to a cause that is effecting positive change in the legal industry.
To join as an individual now, click a New York invoice and send a $150 check payable to Law & Reorder to the address on the invoice. Credit card payment is not accepted at this time.

Become a paid corporate Law & Reorder® chapter member in New York. Here’s how it works:
- A corporate membership to Law & Reorder allows employers to rotate program attendees. The same or different representative(s) of the employer can attend each of the four programs.
- Corporate memberships are an excellent resource for law firms, in-house legal departments or other legal employers with committees, lawyers or administrators who want to keep abreast of issues relating to workplace restructuring, talent management, work/life balance and retaining and promoting lawyers, with a focus on women. Due to conflicting schedules and varying interests in topics, the corporate membership affords employers the luxury of maximizing use of the membership by sending the same or different representatives to the varied programming.
- Corporate members will be highlighted on the Law & Reorder site and celebrated for their support of positive legal industry change. General counsels across the country are supporting change in the way legal work is done, including the general counsels of DuPont, Wal-Mart, General Electric, Verizon, All State Insurance and CIGNA, who have endorsed founder Deborah Epstein Henry’s book, Law & Reorder.
- A single corporate membership costs $450. Two corporate memberships cost $650, and three cost $800. If an employer purchases two corporate membership spots or more, it entitles the employer to send additional representatives to any program for an additional per diem fee of $50 per individual, per program. This enables an employer with two or more corporate spots to allow any number of their lawyers to attend when they have a special interest in a program topic. Additionally, for a fee of $2,000, an employer may send unlimited representatives to four consecutive programs.
- In addition to the four consecutive programs, the membership fee provides members with a directory of members, distribution of topical articles, access to dynamic guest speakers, information about industry standards, and prospective business referrals and job opportunities. It also contributes to a cause that is effecting positive change in the legal industry.
To join as a corporate member now, click on a New York corporate invoice and send the appropriate check amount payable to Law & Reorder to the address on the invoice or bring a check to a Law & Reorder event. Credit card payment is not accepted at this time.
